This is like any other "Frontier" in human history...for every bit of exciting science, there is twice as much charlatan profiteering.

Hi, please do! Our understanding of the microbiome is expanding at a rapid pace, yet my sense (admittedly as a non-MD/PhD enthusiast) is that we still have a LONG way to go before translating a lot of this in meaningful clinical ways. The key though is that you, I, and many others are THINKING about this with open, inquisitive minds.
